Greg Collett is a former financial industry insider who now represents people in disputes with the industry.
Mr. Collett was a Director at Deutsche Bank and Chief Operating Officer of DB Commodity Services LLC, which manages the Bank’s commodity and currency exchange-traded funds and notes (ETFs and ETNs). Mr. Collett helped launch the Bank’s ETF and ETN business, taking it in three years from being an idea to having $7.5 billion under management. He is also a co-inventor (the Bank has a patent pending) of the first commodity index ETF in the US, the Invesco PowerShares DB Commodity Index Tracking Fund.
He worked previously as Vice President and Counsel for Deutsche Bank, where he handled complex over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives deals and disputes and acted as general counsel for the Bank’s commodities brokerage.
Prior to working for Deutsche Bank, Mr. Collett was an Associate at Sidley Austin, specializing in securities, futures and OTC derivatives work.
He has served as an attorney-advisor for the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, where he developed expertise on the laws governing the futures markets.
Mr. Collett is also an arbitrator for the National Futures Association. Additionally, he works pro bono for veterans who have disputes with the Veterans Administration, and he recently won a victory for one of his clients in the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
Mr. Collett has been quoted in Bloomberg Businessweek, the London Evening Standard, and the New York times, among other publications.
He’s also had the honor of ringing the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange.
