Born on Long Island, Theodore Davis graduated from the College of William and Mary in Virginia with a BA in Government, and is a graduate of New York Law School. He is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut, before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of Connecticut, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Davis is a member of the New York State Bar Association, a Panelist for the New York City Office of Collective Bargaining, a FINRA-DR Public Arbitrator, and, has also served as a Pro Bono Arbitrator in Kings County Small Claims Court. He has completed three New York City Marathons, and raised over $40,000 for Make-a-Wish of Metro New York since 2001.
Theodore Davis has extensive experience in arbitration and has arbitrated approximately 100 cases. He has worked for a subsidiary of FINRA, as well as the within the Arbitration Department of the New York Stock Exchange. And, he has been a member of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association (PIABA) since 2003.
After law school, Theodore served Mayor Giuliani’s Office of Labor Relations. Representing the City of New York, he argued more than one-hundred cases at arbitration. After leaving City service for Wall Street, Theodore was appointed to serve as an Impartial Arbitrator for the New York City Office of Collective Bargaining – presiding over cases where he used to be an advocate. Theodore has practiced in securities arbitration since 1998, initially representing brokers and brokerage firms at arbitration. In 2003, Theo joined PIABA, and now exclusively represents investors in FINRA arbitrations against stockbrokers and brokerage firms. Mr. Davis also represents securities industry personnel in employment disputes against brokerage firms.
